Constellation 2048 is a global initiative uniting Amnesty International, ILGA World, and IPPF to build a visionary framework for 21st-century human rights governance. Join us in co-creating transformational solutions to combat inequality, authoritarianism, and systemic crisis.
In 2025, Amnesty International ILGA World, and the International Planned Parenthood Federation came together under the umbrella of Constellation 2048, to imagine and build a shared vision of global governance for human rights, for 2048 and beyond, in response to converging threatening crises, including the breakdown of the multilateral system established in the aftermath of World War Two, rising authoritarian practices, deepening inequalities, technological disruption, the climate crisis and shrinking civic space.

Tasked with helping to bring global governance of human rights into 21st Century relevance, the 2048 Commission established working groups seeking to advise on the transformations and innovations required for a global governance system fully charged, empowered, and equipped to uphold universal and indivisible human rights in this era of rapid and unpredictable change.

Tasked with helping to bring global governance of human rights into 21st Century relevance, the 2048 Commission established working groups seeking to advise on the transformations and innovations required for a global governance system fully charged, empowered, and equipped to uphold universal and indivisible human rights in this era of rapid and unpredictable change.
Constellation 2048 is composed of an expanded 2048 Commission and Assembly 2028. This marks one hundred years since the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and will offer a collective proposal toward 2048.

The 2048 Commission is comprised of working groups arranged around key priority themes that have emerged out of preliminary research and dialogues, including:
• The future of multilateralism •
• Accountability mechanisms for a new world •
• Addressing historical systems of oppression •
•Bringing non-state actors fully into the international accountability plan •
• Climate justice and the rights of future generations •
• Digital futures with human rights at its core •
• Building power for health justice and scientific integrity •
• Building economic systems that work for the people and the planet •
• Gender justice: addressing the rights of people in the margins •
• A new imagination for civic space and civil society •
